    10th Festival of the Pacific Arts - 2008 American Samoa

    From July 18-30, 2008 - American Samoa was host to the 10th Festival of the Pacific Arts. Held every four years and hosted by one of the many island nations and groups each time, the festival is an opportunity for every participating group to showcase art and culture, as well as to allow for greater understanding through the exchange and interaction.

    The Festival held in American Samoa ended on July 30 and was a success. The weather was beautiful and held out for the entire Festival.

    Lavata'i Boys' Fundraiser - April 19, 2008

    Held at the Tradewinds Hotel on April 19, 2008, the fundraiser was held to help pay for two of the boys to compete in the fire knife dance competition off-island. The two boys are defending their champion titles in the junior competition.

    Tisa's Tattoo Festival 2008

    Held in the last week of October, Tisa's Tattoo Festival returned in 2008 for yet another smashing success. Visiting tattoo artists from Hawaii came to show their skill with the needle side by side with local tattoo artists. From modern needle art to ancient traditional techniques, the festival had a great turn out.
